Micro-Scholarships
Micro-Scholarships
Less Cancer offers Nursing Micro-Scholarships to strengthen the public health workforce in rural and underserved communities.
We believe that prevention begins with access to trained professionals who understand the realities of the communities they serve. Community colleges and rural nursing programs are often the backbone of local healthcare systems, yet they frequently operate with limited financial resources.
Our micro-scholarships are awarded directly to accredited nursing schools and community colleges — not to individuals. Participating institutions identify student recipients based on financial need, academic commitment, and a demonstrated interest in community or rural health.
By investing at the institutional level, we support schools in strengthening their programs while helping students remain on track to complete their training.
These scholarships are intentionally modest in size but meaningful in impact. Even small financial gaps can determine whether a student continues or leaves a program. Our goal is to reduce those barriers and help build a sustainable pipeline of nurses prepared to serve where they are needed most.
If your nursing school or community college serves a rural or underserved population and would like to explore partnership opportunities, we welcome you to contact us.
