Less Cancer Founder Bill Couzens Launches Movie Healthy Town–Detroit

The short movie Healthy Town–Detroit is part of the New Healthy Town Campaign from Next Generation Choices Foundation.

Bill Couzens, Founder of Next Generation Choices Foundation, produced and directed Healthy Town–Detroit in his first cinematic effort. Known for their Less Cancer and Healthy Town campaigns, this new effort was well received at its premier in the Eastern Market of Downtown Detroit.

Couzens, a self described serial entrepreneur. Founded the award-winning magazine Equidaie, he sold it to accessories designer Barry Kieselstein- Cord. As a brand promotions and event consultant, Couzens has worked with everything from product lines to televised events for fortune 500 Companies and private individuals. Six years ago Couzens founded the Next Generation Choices Foundation in response to the loss of his sister Anne, mother Joan, and several friends. The Foundation’s Less Cancer campaign is world recognized with thousands of members through social media in over 35 countries. Their first project was to reduce harmful pesticide exposures in Virginia Schools. That effort was recognized for its collaboration with the state on recommendations to reduce pesticide drift from health effected communities – primarily schools. Driven by evidenced based science, Couzens was instrumental in educating Virginians on the risk to children of pesticides in their environment. The work of Less Cancer, and now Healthy Town, has raised awareness for prevention. One can hardly open a newspaper without seeing a story on the very issues that Next Generation Choices Foundation has worked so diligently to bring to the forefront of public discussion. Couzens is a frequent blogger and speaker. Born in Detroit, Couzens is a Wayne State University Graduate.
